HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On Saturday, a Deputy with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a hit and run crash in the 8500 block of FM 1960. The victim said the suspect struck his vehicle at the gas station and fled.
Video surveillance at the location captured the suspect vehicle and license plate. Deputies headed to the registered address, found the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, 51-year-old Joseph Alvarado, displayed multiple signs of intoxication.
Deputies administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined he was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed he had four prior DWI convictions.
“Joseph Alvarado was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with his fifth Driving While Intoxicated offense. He is awaiting bond out of the 208th District Court,” Constable Mark Herman said.
