Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, a Montgomery County Pct. 4 Deputy Constable was patrolling FM 2090 at Tram Road in Splendora when he attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Ford pickup for a non-moving violation. However, the vehicle continued north on Tram Road for a short distance, during which time the deputy saw a clear plastic bag tossed from the passenger side window. The driver, Roger King, then stopped the vehicle. As the deputy approached he could see King was alone and noticed the vehicle’s windows were down, despite the fact that it was drizzling rain.
As King produced his wallet, the deputy saw rolling papers inside. King appeared to be nervous and confused as the deputy detained him. King gave consent to search the vehicle, claiming there was no contraband inside.
The deputy found a clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine in the area where he saw the item tossed from the vehicle.
