Pct. 5 Arrests Teacher for Threat to Burn School

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- Pct, 5 Constable Chris Jones’s Office arrested a local teacher Saturday, after alleged online threats to burn down Magnolia West High School. The teacher, 24-year-old Erik Robert Taylor, was fired from his teaching job at the school in November.

Pct. 5 investigators say Taylor had been disgruntled, posting multiple comments on social media that eventually crossed the line to become criminal when he threatened to “burn down the school” if they failed to comply with his “demand”. Pct. 5 investigated the threat and interviewed Taylor at his home, where they then placed him under arrest. Taylor is charged with “Terroristic Threat”.

Constable Jones said Magnolia ISD was notified that it is safe to resume all regular school activities Monday and students may safely return. His office works directly with MISD to keep students, staff and visitors safe.

“MISD is a great school district and will remain safe to attend, we will continue to take every threat seriously and investigate them quickly to ensure safety at MISD campuses,” Constable Jones said.

Anyone aware of threats or illegal activity please contact the Precinct 5 Constables Office at 281-259-6493 or visit CONSTABLE5.ORG to provide an anonymous tip.
