Pct. 5 Constable: Magnolia Intermediate Student Arrested After Threat

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- Pct. 5 Constable Chris Jones’s Office learned Saturday a Magnolia Intermediate School student texted a threat claiming they planned to take a firearm to school Monday and shoot two other students. The student also sent a photo of the gun with the threat.

Pct. 5 Constable’s Office School Resource Deputies went to the student’s home and at the end of the investigation, they arrested the student for “exhibition, Use, or Threat of Exhibition or Use of a Firearm” (Texas Education Code 37.125) after the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office (who handles juvenile criminal cases) accepted charges. Pct. 5 notified Magnolia ISD officials of the arrest and told them school actives could safely resume Monday morning.

Precinct 5 Constable Chris Jones’s Office works directly with Magnolia ISD on a daily basis to keep students, staff and visitors safe.

“We will continue to take every threat seriously and investigate them quickly to ensure safety at MISD campuses,” Constable Jones said.

Anyone who’s aware of any threats or illegal activity in Magnolia ISD schools should contact the Precinct 5 Constables Office at 281-259-6493 or visit our website CONSTABLE5.ORG to provide an anonymous tip.

Editor’s Note: There’s no information posted on the suspect because he or she is a juvenile and their identity is protected unless they’re being prosecuted as an adult.
