Persistent Constable Recovers Stolen Travel Trailer

On March 7, around 3 p.m., San Jacinto County Pct. 3 Constable Sam Houston saw a white 1998 Dodge Truck pulling a travel trailer with expired registration plates traveling east on Fostoria Rd in San Jacinto County. Constable Houston initiated a traffic stop about the 2400 block Fostoria Rd. Constable Houston made contact with the driver and identified him by Texas Identification as Mr. Joseph Duncan. It was discovered that Mr. Duncan was driving on a suspended Driver’s License. Mr. Duncan stated that he has just bought the travel trailer and provided a Texas Title.

On March 8, 2017 a Detective employed by Huntsville, Texas Police Department advised Constable Sam Houston that the 2002 5th wheel travel trailer that Mr. Duncan was in possession of the day before had been stolen out of Huntsville, Texas. The Detective said that the owner had left the title to the travel trailer camper inside the camper. The Detective advised Constable Houston that the traffic stop had been made prior to the information being entered into NCIC/TCIC. On Friday, March 10, Constable Houston procured an arrest warrant for Mr. Duncan for a State Jail Felony of Theft. On Saturday, March 11, Constable Houston went to Mr. Duncan’s home on Jay Hawker Road in San Jacinto County and placed Mr. Duncan under arrested for Theft without incident.
