Just before noon, a pilot called David Wayne Hooks Tower in Tomball to report engine problems. Hooks dispatched Cypress Creek EMS and Klein Fire Department to stand by on the field. Moments later the pilot reported he was unable to make it and was going to attempt a landing at the Woodforest Stadium in Conroe. Moments later MCHD dispatched a plane crash at the location. At this time the single-engine plane is upside down in the parking lot. He did strike several trees. The pilot’s only injuries are an injured arm.

At approximately 12 noon July 3, 2015, a 1963 Cessna 172 airplane crashed in the Woodforest Stadium parking lot on David Memorial Dr. The pilot is Michael Wade Durr out of Houston, TX. Durr stated he departed Weser Airport between 10-10:30 this morning and flew to Cleveland, refueled and headed back to Weser when his engine quit. Durr contacted Hooks Airport and advised he had engine failure. Durr crash-landed in the parking lot. There were no other passengers on the plane, and Durr was treated by EMS and released.
