Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace James Metts said he was honored to throw out the first ball on opening day for the Splendora Area Softball Association on Saturday. It was the first time the judge was asked to perform the task, and he said he truly enjoyed being at the park.
Pct. 4 Commissioner Ed Rinehart, who was responsible for funding the complex, spoke at the event. Rinehart said it was gratifying to see the young athletes and their families enjoying the facility.
