A Montgomery County Precinct 4 K9 Deputy responded to a request for assistance at the Teoloapan Meat Market in Porter. 13 suspects attempted to cash in 13 fraudulent checks for a total of $10,870.00. The Deputy arrived on the scene and made contact with 3 suspects who had not yet fled. One suspect attempted to eat the fraudulent check to avoid it being used as evidence against him. The Deputy retrieved the chewed-up evidence
and attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect began fighting in the vegetable aisle and was ultimately placed in handcuffs thanks to assistance from a civilian passing by.

All 13 suspects were identified, and photographed. The Precinct 4 Criminal Investigation Division (CID) will continue investigating and file warrants for the other 12 suspects.
