According to the National Weather Service, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to develop north of Southeast Texas later this evening. While these storms are expected to be weakening in their approach, they may survive long enough to bring isolated strong to severe thunderstorms to the Piney Woods late tonight with isolated showers down to the I-10 corridor.  Timing is looking to be between 1 a.m. to 5 a.m., and the greatest severe weather threats will be damaging winds and large hail. The National Weather Service says there is potential for storms to produce heavy downpours and result in isolated instances of flash flooding.  The Trinity River Authority is currently releasing 37,383 cfs from the Lake Livingston Dam.  Persons who reside along the Trinity River and below the Lake Livingston Dam can monitor the dam’s releases on their website at https://lakedata.traweb.net/ Remain weather aware and prepared.
