KALIE VALENTINE AGE 28 OF HOUSTON IS NOW IN THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY JAIL CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED ROBBERY AND EVADING ARREST WITH A VEHICLE.

Just before 10 pm Samantha Rodriguez and her friend Chelsae McEvers made a trip to the Little Caesar’s Pizza at FM 1314 and US 59 to pick pizza up for her mother who was hosting a 14-year-olds birthday at their home.
As they exited the store Samantha had a man come up behind her, put a knife to her and tell her to give him her truck or she was dead. She gave him the keys and both girls fled back into the business.
The thief who has yet to be positively identified sped out of the parking lot and headed south on US 59. Little did he know at first that Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies were also in the same parking lot just finishing answering an alarm call in the shopping center. They observed him leave. The girls advised them what had happened and deputies attempted to catch up to the Expedition.
Sgt. Kendrick and his partner Logan spotted the truck near North Park and 59 and followed it to Sorters Road where they attempted to stop it and a chase began. The chase up to 100 mph at times continued up Sorters Road toward FM 1314. Just before FM 1314 a Precinct 4 deputy attempted to spike the vehicle as it passed the Porter Fire Station. One of the tires blew and as the vehicle got to FM 1314 ran out into the intersection without slowing for traffic. He then went through the intersection without stopping for cross traffic and continued to Mills Road where he u-turned and started back south on Sorters. As he approached the curve at Summer Hills he ran off the road, hit several trees, struck a cable tv box, went through a utility pole which supported a fiber-optic cable, went across Summer Hills spinning and came to rest in the ditch facing northbound.
The driver who has yet to be positively identified was transported in stable condition to Ben Taub Hospital but reported to have no feeling below the waist.
Sorters Road and Summer Hills Roads were closed almost three hours as the investigation continued and the debris field was cleaned up. In addition with the fiber optic cable hanging low over the ground, it was not safe for traffic to flow through the area. With only one entrance and exit to Summer Hills traffic could be seen for a long distance back.
Porter Fire was able to cut the pole loose from the line allowing it to spring back into almost it’s original position so the roadway could be reopened.
As the wrecker loaded the car Samantha’s mother stated she had the Ford SUV since 2005 and only had five payments left but was glad the girls were unharmed.
Trooper Lopez who worked the accident stated charges would be forthcoming by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
