A meeting was called by Montgomery County Emergency Services District on June 26, at 2 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to vote on the future employment of Porter Fire Chief Jody Binnion.
Binnion, who was arrested on November 4 by DPS for driving while intoxicated was then indicted for perjury after he and his wife Rachel lied to the Montgomery County Grand Jury about the night of the incident.
During the June 26 meeting it was determined by the board to terminate Binnion but leave him remain on as a consultant until August 1.
That meeting which was to be held at 2 p.m. was held 4 hours earlier at 10 a.m. making the meeting illegal.
The meeting Thursday is just a formality to correct the mistake of June 26.
