PORTER FIRE DEPARTMENT TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW TANKER

After almost a year Porter Fire Department took delivery of its newest truck. A 3300-gallon tanker with a pump that can put out 2000 gallons per minute. The truck, manufactured by Rosenbauer America which is based in Minnesota. Rosenbauer manufactures fire trucks for departments worldwide. Porter’s new truck has a newly designed cab and is the first of it’s kind in Texas. At a cost of $666,000 it is designed to last for many years to come. The truck carries 2800 feet of large 5″ diameter hose. Many departments have trailers and a utility truck to pull that much hose. With 3 stations a new one will soon be started on Rolling Hills and FM 1314 just south of Gene Campbell. With the addition of this truck, Porter now has 22 trucks on the road serving the citizens of the fire district.
