Porter Man Arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor Following Joint Law Enforcement Investigation

Following a joint investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, 32-year-old Patrick Meroney of Porter, Texas, has been arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor.
The investigation began after Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office detectives received information that Meroney was bragging about engaging in sexual activity with underage children. MCSO Detectives were able to identify
Meroney, through our partnership with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office.
Through this collaboration, a Precinct 3 investigator initiated an online undercover operation. During the course of the investigation, sufficient evidence was gathered to arrest and charge Meroney with Online Solicitation of a Minor.
Investigators believe there may be additional unidentified victims. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information regarding possible victims or additional criminal activity involving Patrick Meroney to contact Special Victims Unit Detectives at 936-538-3474.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office extends sincere appreciation to Constable Ryan Gable and the Precinct 3 investigators for their assistance and partnership in this case. Joint investigations such as this allow law enforcement to leverage specialized resources and expertise to better protect the community. This investigation remains ongoing, and no further details can be released at this time.
