Samuel Gene Cuellar, 33, of New Caney and 23-year-old Brittany Rochelle Dutton of New Caney are charged with state jail felony Possession of a Controlled Substance; misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and Felon on Possession of Firearm (third-degree felony). Cuellar also had an outstanding failure to appear warrant from the 410th District Court.
On August 16, around 6 p.m., Deputy C. Turrentine and other members of the Pct. 4 Constable’s Office went to arrest a man believed to be inside a travel trailer at 17582 Grove Circle in New Caney. Samuel Cuellar was on location and told Deputy Turrentine the wanted subject was not there. The deputy saw drug paraphernalia in plain view while speaking with the people who were inside the trailer. A search of the trailer revealed a pistol, methamphetamine and marijuana. Cuellar and Dutton, who was inside the trailer when deputies arrived, are convicted felons and neither admitted ownership of the gun or other contraband.
As of this writing, both remained jailed with Cuellar’s bond totaling $20,000 and Dutton’s totaling $9,000.
Christie Beatrice Ochoa, 37, of Conroe is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More (third-degree felony) and Driving While License Suspended/Enhanced (misdemeanor B).
On the evening of August 16, Pct. 4 deputies were on location of two felony narcotics arrests when a 2002 Chevy Silverado slowly passed the residence and then the driver committed moving violation. Deputy K. Cooke followed and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputy Cooke saw an open can of beer in the truck’s center console. The female driver had alcohol on her breath and was very belligerent. She exhibited signs of extreme intoxication and failed the Standard Field Sobriety Test.
Everett Lee Evans, 40, of New Caney is charged with Driving While Intoxicated 2nd.
Around midnight on August 18, Deputy E. Rivera responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 21000 Loop 494 where he found an older model Ford pickup in the ditch and a Nissan single cab pickup on the shoulder of the road. The Ford’s driver was standing at the rear of the truck and his passenger was injured but conscious in the ditch. Deputy Rivera called for EMS for the passenger then approached the driver. He saw immediate indicators the Ford pickup driver was intoxicated including the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. Evans told the deputy the other pickup pulled out in front of him, but witnesses stated Evans traveled into oncoming traffic to pass an SUV before striking the Nissan pickup. Evans admitted drinking alcohol and failed the Standard Field Sobriety Test. Back at the County Annex, Evans blew into an Intoxilyzer and scored a .166.
Leslie E. “Rough Rider” Gill, 49, of New Caney was arrested on a Blue Warrant, meaning his parole was revoked and he will return to prison. On August 19, around 2:15 p.m., Lt. Mark Seals was attempting to serve a blue warrant on another suspect at a mobile home near the intersection of Wren and FM 1485 in New Caney when he found Leslie Gill hiding in a closet. A check of Gill’s identity revealed he too had a blue warrant.
