Sunday evening approximately 7:00P.M. Deputy Juan Chapa and his partner Porter were on routine patrol along US 59 near Creekwood when he spotted a black Ford 500 traveling northbound with Michigan tags.
Stopping the vehicle he talked with the driver who is identified as Stevie Victoria Brown-Crever of Sparta, Michigan. Noticing the numerous air fresheners hanging throughout the car he requested permission to search the vehicle. She denied the consent to search.
Removing her from the vehicle he let hi partner Porter check the vehicle. Porter detected something in the lower truck area as he crawled up under the car several times.
Dropping the back seat Chapa found a bag of what appeared to be marijuana. After a complete search of the vehicle he found a total of nine pounds of marijuana in two trash bags and one shopping bag. In addition he discovered $2000 in cash. At that point Brown-Crever admitted to the marijuana being hers and stated she had paid $4500 for it.
Brown-Crever who is 25 years old was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Possession of Marijuana. Bond has been set at $10,000
Since Porter was activated in mid-September he has been responsible for eight of the eleven hits on vehicles both for Precinct 4 and other agencies he has assisted. The total drugs taken off the streets has been excessive.
Almost 1600 pounds of marijuana, 797 grams of cocaine, over 3000 pills, 2 bottles of codine and a pound of ICE.
