Precinct 4 Makes Three Felony Arrests in EMC

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On Friday, January 12, Pct. 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden’s Office announced the arrest of three suspects in three separate felony cases, and one of them is a real head scratcher.

Just after noon, Deputies responded to an assault call in the 19300 block of Riverwalk Dr. in Porter, where 35-year-old Esmeralda Hernandez is accused of assaulting two family members with household items investigators say she used as weapons. MCHD Medics treated the victims on-location for non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies placed Hernandez under arrest on two counts of second-degree felony Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe. Her bond totals $50,000, and she remains jailed as of this posting.

On the same day, Pct. 4 Deputies successfully executed two felony arrest warrants between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. They arrested 58-year-old Stephen Alan Patterson of Cypress for second-degree felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). The charge was already adjudicated, and the nearly 60-year-old could have avoided going back to jail, but District Clerk records show he violated the terms of his supervised release eight times. After the County says Patterson tested positive for methamphetamine in October, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The third felony arrest was 27-year-old Juan Eliazar Contreras-Tristan, of Houston. He was charged with second-degree felony Robbery in 2020. The case was assigned to 221st District Judge Lisa Michalk, who signed off on a plea agreement that allowed Contreras-Tristan to pay for his crime, but eventually petition the court to have the record removed. It’s called “deferred adjudication” and the one catch in getting “deferred” is that the suspect has to comply with terms of supervised released for a specified period of time. If they do so, and it’s their only criminal charge, they can eventually have a clean record again.

According to the Order of Arrest, signed January 3, Contreras-Tristan has violated the terms of his plea agreement SEVEN times since 2020. Four of those times were “failure to submit to urinalysis” and three were “tested positive for marijuana in random urinalysis”.

Contreras-Tristan and Patterson are also in the Montgomery County Jail and remain held without bond.

Constable Hayden said he commends the dedication of the Deputies, whose continual vigilance helps to ensure the safety of East Montgomery County residents and visitors. He also expressed appreciation for the community’s support.
