puckett,david r David R. Puckett, a white male age 27 has escaped from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Stiles Unit in Beaumont. Prison officials last saw Puckett in the recreation yard close to 6:45p.m. Wednesday night. Pieces of clothing and socks were found in the razor wire on the perimeter fence.

Approximately 10:45 p.m. last night he was believed to have been seen by a police officer in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. It is believed he was also treated at one of the hospitals there for injuries he may have received in is escape. A security tape was reviewed at the undisclosed hospital shows a male who matches Puckett’s description.

Puckett was serving a 30-year sentence for aggravated assault on a public servant in Lavaca County on June 25, 2001.

He was sentenced on December 18, 2001 and would not have been eligible for parole until June of 2016.

Prison officials say he is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
