PURSUIT CONROE TO HUNTSVILLE

Just before 1 pm Saturday a Montgomery County Deputy attempted to stop a Chevrolet Impala between Conroe and Willis on Highway 75. The female driver who the deputy believed was impaired was unable to stay in a single marked lane. With lights and siren the female refused to stop and continued driving at speeds between 25 and 45 miles per hour.

When she got into New Waverly she stopped at the traffic light but then went on. Walker County Sheriff’s Department entered into the pursuit just north of New Waverly.

Reaching Park Road 40 in Huntsville several Texas Parks and Wildlife Officers joined in. DPS spiked the vehicle in front of the Goree Prison Unit in Huntsville causing two front tires to go flat.

Still not stopping they stayed on Highway 75 they went under Highway 19 and continued into the city limits of Huntsville.  A Huntsville tried unsuccessfully to spike the rear ties.

Multiple units were finally able to box her in just before the SHSU Campus. At this point the Montgomery County Deputy was forced to break the windows out of the vehicle to gain access to the female who was once again trying to drive off.

She was transported to Huntsville Hospital. Her name was unknown as officials could not find any identification. Due to her mental condition and un responsiveness to verbal commands or questions she was transported for evaluation.

The Deputy suffered minor cuts to the hand from the glass.
