PURSUIT ENDS IN RECOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTY

Just before midnight Montgomery County Sheriff’s units spotted a stolen vehicle near FM 1485 and Pickering. Deputies stopped a black HHR and sa the deputy got out of his vehicle, it fled. A pursuit started north on FM 1485 to Whispering Pines. The vehicle then turned into Whispering Pines and tried to lose the patrol unit running down several streets. The chase ended at the end of Whispering Pines when the vehicle entered a private drive, thinking it wa sa road. The driver soon realized it was not a street but continued on through an open field and came to rest almost 200-yards into the woods. He then fled into the night. Deputies were able to identify the suspect and after coming up empty handed last night plan to capture him soon as he was recognized as a known felon by deputies. Inside the vehicle the deputies recovered a large amount stolen property including a large amount of jewelry. A Montgomery County Precinct 4 K-9 responded to the scene and was able to track the suspect to the Country West Subdivision but the trail ended there. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Detectives responded to the scene to take possession of the vehicle and property. Milstead Wrecker was dispatched to remove the vehicle from the woods and transport it to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab. COPS who are shooting in Montgomery County for the next 9-weeks were greeted with the pursuit just hours after they started shooting.
