PURSUIT ENDS WHEN CAR FULL OF JUVENILES CRASH

On June 8, 2020, around 4:00 pm Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables Department attempted to stop a silver SUV for traveling at speeds in excess of the posted speed limit. Deputies gave chase as the SUV fled from them reaching speeds of over 90 mph in a 35 mph zone and the pursuit ultimately came to an end when the suspects crashed into a metal fence near the intersection of Stagecoach Road and Shady Oaks Dr. One passenger stayed at the vehicle, however, the driver and another passenger fled on foot into some nearby woods. Additional Precinct 5 Deputies along with multiple Montgomery County Sheriffs Deputies, Magnolia Police Department, and Stagecoach PD quickly arrived on scene to assist and were able to locate the two suspects that fled. All three suspects were juveniles around the age of 16. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for Evading in a Motor Vehicle (3rd Degree Felony), one passenger that fled on foot was arrested for Evading Detention (Class A Misdemeanor) and the third Juvenile that stayed at the vehicle was released to a parent on scene.
Constable Chris Jones comments: “My Deputies will continue to proactively patrol the streets and neighborhoods within this community and I urge everyone to stay safe and follow the rules of the road while traveling our streets. Everyone deserves the ability to arrive at their destination safely without someone driving recklessly and causing unnecessary accidents or injury to others. Thank you to all agencies that responded quickly and helped capture both suspects that fled.”
