Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle
Monday night. a deputy with Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of the North Sam Houston Parkway. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit north on I-45 to Spring Cypress, then down Hardy and onto the Hardy Toll Road. Constable Deputies utilized spike strips at Hardy and the Airport Connector deflating one tire. The vehicle continued to evade while driving on rims until deputies were able to stop the vehicle near the 2500 block of the North 61O Loop West Freeway. The driver was identified as Tyler Cheli and was found to have an open warrant for Assault. “Tyler Cheli was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on the open Assault warrant and charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $3,010.00 for the Assault and his bond and court information have not been set at this time for the Evading in a Motor Vehicle charge,” said Constable Mark Herman.
