A pursuit that began south of Conroe when a vehicle was southbound on the northbound lanes of I-45, has ended in Conroe on Loop 336 and police discovered the Hispanic male suspect had two small children in the backseat who were not in car seats. Amazingly, the suspect did not strike any other vehicles and no accidents occurred as a result of his actions.
After heading the wrong way, the suspect turned back northbound on the freeway, exited onto the feeder and turned under I-45 at Loop 336, where he went through the Shell station parking lot and into the Kroger lot, back onto Loop 336, heading west, then crossing over to the eastbound lanes where a felony stop was successfully conducted a short time later.
According to scanner traffic, multiple agencies became involved in the pursuit including DPS and Shenandoah PD, where the suspect’s direction of travel changed so many times, it was impossible for anyone to get ahead of him and lay down spikes.
Fortunately, he was finally stopped and apprehended. Law enforcement has the children and have dispatchers attempting to contact their uncle to pick them up. The suspect is going to jail.
