PURSUIT LEADS TO CAPTURE OF DRUNK DRIVER

Owens, Justin WayneEarly Tuesday morning a pursuit led to the capture of a suspected drunk driver. Deputies with Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constables Office and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office became involved in a pursuit in South Montgomery County after the driver failed to stop and sped off.

Justin Wayne Owens, 32. of 28931 Rio Grand River in Spring was taken into custody after the short pursuit. Besides being arrested for evading arrest he was charged with his SECOND Third time or more driving while intoxicated charge.

Previously he had been arrested on May 28, 2007 for DWI and again for his second DWI on August 31, 2011. Then on June 20, 2013 he was once again arrested for DWI on June 20, 2013. The indictment for the third DWI was just 56 days ago. He was to appear in District Judge Kelly Cases Courtroom on January 21, 2014.

  1. I think the Judges that grant bail should be held accountable also!!!!! QUIT letting them go!!! First time they are arrested….. Mandatory 1 year!!!! No excuses!!!!!! And in that year they go to treatment! If they get out and do it again, 5 yrs!

  2. Why do they have to kill people before they are forced to get help or locked up for a long time? Do people realize that it’s just luck that a person doesn’t kill a family on the highway every time he decides to drive drunk? One time and he should be forced to get some help or something. We need laws for this. Just because someone doesn’t kill someone three plus times doesn’t mean he doesn’t have as bad a problem as someone who kills the first time.

  3. This is a disease for some people. I am not defending his drinking and driving by no means. The obvious disregard for anyone other than himself is apparent. Throw the book at em.
