PURSUIT UPDATE

At about 9 am Friday morning, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a Tesla in the 1960 and Cypress Station area. The male driver and female passenger sped off down FM 1960, eventually getting back onto I-45. The chase continued into Montgomery County, but Harris County lost sight of the vehicle near FM 1488. Just north of there, a Montgomery County Precinct 2 Deputy was patrolling I-45 and spotted the vehicle. The vehicle’s license plate was covered. It was then that the Tesla accelerated, hitting speeds of 130mph. As they approached FM 830, the Tesla ran out of battery juice and stopped. The male fled into the woods, the female was unable to flee as units converged on her. The male continued running in the wooded area along I-45 until he was finally taken into custody. Harris County transported him back to Harris County, but not before locating a credit card reader in the glove box and a large amount of cash. The male is also wanted on multiple charges of identity theft in Tarrant County.
