R.I.P. TROOPER WILSON

We are mourning the loss of retired Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Chad Wilson, who passed away yesterday on November 6, 2025, after a valiant 12-year battle with leukemia.
Diagnosed in 2013 while serving with the DPS, Wilson faced the disease head-on, with community benefits organized to support his treatment early on.  Despite numerous fights with cancer and related illnesses, he never gave up, repeatedly returning to the road and continuing his dedication to public safety.
The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office paid tribute, calling him a “Brother in Blue” who fought courageously until the end. In recent years, after moving to the Brazos Valley with his family, Wilson was highlighted for everyday heroism, like stopping to help a stranded driver—embodying the spirit of service that defined his career.
His story is one of resilience, inspiring those who knew him and the broader law enforcement community. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fellow officers during this heartbreaking time.
