A cold front currently in the Texas Panhandle will move into the area early Wednesday. Upper level flow will become parallel to the surface front for a time and if this occurs, some training of storms could develop. In general, we are expecting a broad band of heavy rain to be moving slowly while individual storms move ahead and into the band as it pushes to the southeast.
Impacts:
Rainfall will generally average between 1 and 2 inches area wide with locally heavier amounts between 3 and 4 inches possible. The heaviest rain is expected to fall north of a Columbus to Conroe to Trinity line
Timing:
Showers and thunderstorms will start towards the north near College Station around midnight tonight and gradually spread to the south Wednesday morning.
