Montgomery County EMS and Montgomery Fire Department were dispatched just after 10am Thursday morning to the 3200 block of FM 1486 for a traumatic injury. When they arrived they found Frank Joseph Mock, age 77, out in the pasture seriously injured. He went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.
According to Precinct One Justice of the Peace Lanny Moriarty Mr. Mock had been shredding the pasture. For an unknown reason the Massey Ferguson tractor died. Using his pickup he attempted to jump the tractor. The key had been left on and when the battery cable came in contact with the battery the tractor and shredder ran over him.
The tractor then continued several hundred yards until it became stuck in a ravine. Deputies found the tractor with the cables still attached to it.
Mr. Mock was pronounced dead on the scene by Judge Moriarty and was ordered to be transported to Dallas for autopsy.
