Alert: The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.
* AFFECTED AREA…Houston, Trinity, Madison, Walker, San Jacinto, Polk, Burleson, Brazos, Washington, Grimes, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Colorado, Austin, Waller, Inland Harris, Chambers, Wharton, Fort Bend, Inland Jackson, Inland Matagorda, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Southern Liberty, Coastal Harris, Coastal Jackson, Coastal Matagorda, Coastal Brazoria and Coastal Galveston.
* TIMING…From 10 AM to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.
* WINDS…Northeast around 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 20 percent.
Instructions: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now…or will shortly. A combination of strong winds…low relative humidity…and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
