This weekend marked the rehearsal for the 40th Texas Renaissance Festival held just north of Magnolia. It started with a practice opening minus the cannon, shows and even some mock weddings as more and more weddings are done on the grounds than ever before.
The night ended with the King Midas Masquerade Ball at the new facility just off the campgrounds. King Midas’ Masquerade Ball is the debut of an extraordinary new interactive entertainment from the Texas Renaissance Festival. Experience an unforgettable night of astonishing sights, dazzling entertainment and delectable culinary temptations. King Midas invites you to honor Dionysus, god of wine and revelry, at a spectacular Masquerade Ball, where all are equal behind the mystery of a mask.
A magnificent all-new complex has been created on festival grounds opposite New Market Village especially for this exciting new event. An enchanting tented pavilion set in an exotic garden fantasy; King Midas’ Golden Court features climate control, restroom facilities, ADA accessibility, and special parking. Its location is convenient and easy access to the festival’s superb Fields of New Market campground.
The Masquerade Ball will be held from 8pm to 1am, every Saturday night of the 40th Annual Texas Renaissance Festival, running eight wondrous weekends, October 11-November 30, 2014.
All guests must be age 21 or older. A photo ID will be required.
Masquerade attire and a mask are required for entry. Guests are bid to appear in a festive costume, wearing a mask or face paint disguise to conceal their identity. Ball costumes and masks may reflect any period or fantasy, including – but not limited to – classical, renaissance or modern formal wear.
