Tuesday night deputies were alerted to a vehicle traveling south on US 59 with items being thrown out the door. Several times the door opened as if someone was going to jump out. Moments later a call came in that a 10-year-old girl had been kidnapped at the New Caney Walmart by a male in a Jeep Liberty. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputies met with a female who was said to be the child’s mother. She stated her daughter was taken by the male who the mother knew. An attempt to locate was issued on the vehicle. The female told deputies she was in the truck with her daughter and the male. She stated he pulled into the Jac in the Box at FM 1485 and Us 59 where he kicked the mother out and fled. Deputies were able to get a phone number on the male. Precinct 4 Deputy Bullinger contacted the male who stated the child was not with him. He stated the woman was intoxicated and was throwing his personal items out the window along the freeway He stated he got to the Jack in the Box told her to get out and gave her a credit card to get home. The male said the child was at a baby sitters house in San Leon, Texas. When deputies requested him to return to the scene to interview him, he refused stating he had open felony warrants. A call was made to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office who sent a unit toi San Leon. There they verified the child was safe and with a babysitter. Deputies then charged the mother, Samantha Gilbert with filing a false police report. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
