Resolution Passed by Montgomery County GOP Highlights Growing Division Ahead of Early Voting

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- At its February 3, 2026 County Executive Committee meeting, the Montgomery County Republican Party passed a resolution claiming that Republican Voters of Texas PAC is engaging in “deceptive electioneering” solely for using the word “Republican” in its name.

This action follows a failed attempt to pass the same resolution at the January County Executive Committee meeting, where it was brought to leadership’s attention that the required party bylaws had not been followed. Rather than addressing those procedural shortcomings and moving forward constructively, party leadership revived the resolution at the February meeting.

These tactics are not new. Similar efforts have been used in the past, despite repeated clarification that there are no legal or regulatory restrictions preventing organizations from using the word “Republican” in their name. Once again, party resources are being directed toward internal conflict rather than voter engagement.

With early voting less than two weeks away, Republicans in Montgomery County should be united and focused on turning out voters, supporting candidates, and winning elections. Instead, valuable time and energy are being spent attacking fellow Republicans who share the same fundamental values.

Republican Voters of Texas PAC remains steadfast in its mission to promote integrity, honesty, and common-sense conservatism. These latest actions only further underscore the need for new leadership within the Montgomery County Republican Party. Leadership that prioritizes unity, fairness, and the work of winning elections over division and infighting.

As Montgomery County continues to grow, Republicans deserve leadership that rallies voters, respects differing viewpoints within the party, and keeps its focus where it belongs: on strengthening our conservative movement and turning out Republicans at the polls.
