Restaurant manager shot – gunman at large

NORTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY- Willis Police are continuing their search for a man who shot restaurant manager Elias Herrera, 28, outside his workplace just before midnight on Friday.

Sgt. Rooney said the shooting occurred at Los Pericos Mexican Restaurant on South Danville near FM 2432 when Herrera was approached by an unidentified Hispanic male outside the establishment. Herrera was shot once in the abdomen, Rooney said, before the shooter ran away in a southwest direction.

The North Montgomery County Fire Department responded to the scene along with medics who transported the manager by ground ambulance to Ben Taub Hospital in Houston in critical condition.
As of Saturday afternoon, Herrera remained in the Intensive Care Unit, but his condition was considered stable.

The only description of the gunman, who remains at large as of this writing, was that he was a Hispanic male wearing a dark colored hoodie and baseball cap.

WPD received assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Panorama Police Department.
