RIVER RESCUE IN PROGRESS

Just after 3pm Liberty County dispatchers received a call about two missing female teens in the San Jacinto River. At first they had been swimming but later donned innertubes and began to float on the river. Thats when they lost sight of them. Cleveland Fire Department, Plum Grove Fire Department, New Caney Fire and Porter Fire Department, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office are currently searching the river. Local resident Wade Willis has also volunteered the services of his air boat. The river level has dropped compared to what it was last week , however the low canopy of trees are also hindering the search. PHI Air Medical has volunteered their helicopter as the US Coast Guard had other rescues in progress. As of the search area is north and south of the FM 2090 bridge.
