Just after 11:00p.m. River Plantation Fire Department was dispatched on a rollover accident on Crighton Road east of FM 1314. When they arrived they were met by MCHD and Constable Gene DeForest. A sixteen year old male had been driving his mothers Lincoln Navigator when he failed to negotiate a ninety-degree curve, left the roadway, struck a culvert and rolled over.
At first the driver told officials he was alone and when he came into the curve a deer was standing in the road. Later he admitted there were three in the vehicle and his friends fled the scene. The driver was uninjured and was turned over to his parents.
