About 5:15a.m. this morning New Caney and Porter Fire Departments were dispatched to a house fire at 1811 Roman Forest Blvd. When they arrived they found a two story home totally involved. This was the same home which firefighters left just twelve hours before when then too it was heavily involved in fire.
A second alarm was sounded bringing in Splendora, Caney Creek and River Plantation Fire Departments. With the danger of falling debris in the house firefighters who were fighting it from the inside were ordered out.
As of 7:30a.m. the fire has just been brought under control but hose lines continue to be on the roadway forcing the road to be closed.
In addition, any resident in Roman Forest is asked to conserve water for the next several hours as with the massive amounts of water flowing onto this home the water system is being taxed to it’s limits. Roman Forest MUD is manually controlling pressure at this time to assist firefighters in getting the water they need. Wood Branch is also asked to conserve water since their water system is down and the city is being supplied by Roman Forest also.
The road could be closed several more hours.
It is unknown the cause of the second fire. The earlier fire was under investigation by the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office. Roman Forest Police have been watching the home most of the night to make sure nobody entered the home. Just twenty minutes before the massive flames the home was checked. Another resident said he came in from work ten minutes earlier and slowed down to look at the home and there was no sign of even smoke.
