Yesterday our office was contacted by a complainant who had his vehicle stolen last September. The complainant saw his vehicle listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The Pct. 4 Criminal Investigations Division immediately began an investigation into the Facebook post and was able to track the seller and the vehicle down to an address in the 19600 block of Carver Avenue, Humble, Texas, where it was recovered with the assistance of Houston Police. Always use caution when purchasing items from Facebook Marketplace and other online retail websites.
