Running a red light proved fatal on an area roadway Saturday morning. Around 8:25 a.m., , Thi Nguyen was driving a 1997 Toyota four door passenger car southbound in the 11000 block of Bammel N. Houston and approaching the intersection of N. Sam Houston Pkwy. As she reached the intersection she allegedly failed to stop for the red light and crossed into the path of a westbound 2003 Toyota Tacoma pick up. Nguyen’s vehicle was struck broadside by the pick up in the center of the inside westbound lane. Due to the injuries received, Nguyen did not show any signs of life on the scene. The case is under investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
