Early this year Will “Troy” Byler asked Bailee Ackerman his girlfriend to marry him. Both were students at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Saturday was the big day and the two tied the knot at Will’s father’s ranch near Uvalde. They left the event in the family helicopter, a Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter. The helicopter is owned by WT Byler Construction in Houston. About midnight Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an aircraft down. Approximately 6 hours later the search teams consisting of DPS, Border Patrol, Game Wardens, and the Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department found the helicopter off Highway 55. It had crashed into the side of a hill. Will Byler, his new bride Bailee, and the pilot were all deceased. The NTSB is on the scene and expected to release additional information Monday.
