The Texas Forest Service brought the San Jacinto County Wildfire under control at 11p.m. last night. Crews returned today for mop up and mapping. In addition crews are doing aerial monitoring for spot fires.
According to the Texas Forest Service the total size of the fire was 501 acres. On the 501, 405 were on private land and 96 acres were part of the Sam Houston National Forest.
The cause is under investigation.
