Just after 7 am this morning a Tarkington ISD special needs school bus was traveling east on SH 105 and attempted a left turn to go north on FM 2518. That’s when a westbound US Express 18-wheeler pulling an empty Walmart trailer ran the stop sign striking the school bus. One adult assistant and one child was transported from the bus. There were five onboard. In addition the 18-wheeler driver was transported.
At this time SH 105 at FM 2518 remains closed. Detour south on SH 321 to FM 163 then east to FM 2518 then north to SH 105 to avoid the scene if you are heading toward Beaumont.
If westbound take FM 2518 south to FM 163 then west to SH 321 then north to SH 105.
