Harris County Deputies and Equisearch spent most of Saturday searching Cypress Creek for 26-year-old Melissa Sowders from Katy, Texas. Sowders, who is pregnant, was last seen by her boyfriend, Jason Sanford when she dropped him off at work on Friday morning just after 6 a.m..
After noon, a purse was found but it is not yet confirmed to be her’s.
Sowders was driving a white Honda Accord that she and her boyfriend owned together. That vehicle was found Friday nightby Harris County Deputies at Richet and Interstate 45.
Sowders was supposed to meet her ex-husband, Matthew Sowders, and their young daughter at McDonalds on FM 1960 at Kuykendahl. Sanford said Sowders called him from the McDonalds and told him everything was fine.
According to family members, Sowders and her ex-husband had an abusive relationship and they are suspicious of him.
Deputies are asking for the public’s help to find Sowders. They believe foul play might be involved in her disappearance.
