Burton’s passenger on Wednesday, 29-year-old Jason Alan Manuel of Huntsville, was arrested on the scene and charged with making a false report to a police officer after allegedly trying to convince detectives the man who fled was not Burton. Manuel has since been released on $1,000 bond.
Less than 48 hours after the organized search ended, Burton turned himself in. As of this writing, no bond amounts are listed.
