June 18, 2011, around 7:30 AM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office met with a Forest Service Police Officer who had been on routine patrol in a wooded area off of Calvary Road in the Willis area. The Forest Service Police Officer happened upon a 15 year old girl and a 47 year old man and the teen reported that the two had been involved in sexual relations.
The 47 year old suspect was arrested, handcuffed and placed into a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office patrol car for transport to the jail. While the deputy was assisting with the investigation the suspect broke a window of the patrol car and escaped.
A search of the area both on foot and with the assistance of a Department of Public Safety helicopter the search was not successful. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has worked cooperatively with the Texas Rangers and an arrest warrant was obtained both for Sexual Assault and Escape.
Last night Texas Rangers, along with U.S. Marshall’s Office, Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office attempted to arrest the suspect at a residence on Remmington Bend Drive in Houston. When officers approached the home the suspect fled on foot and was at-large for several hours before being arrested.
