At 6:42 am a Dodge pickup truck traveling west on SH 105 west of Cleveland at the Gooded City bridge crossed the center line and struck a bulk trash truck traveling eastbound. Close to 100 gallons of diesel was spilled before the 18-wheeler went into the ditch. A Trooper en route to the scene spotted a male walking quite a distance east of the crash site. That male was about to enter a pickup that had stopped. The Trooper learned that the male who showed visible injuries had been involved in the crash and was attempting to get to a hospital. MCHD was dispatched to that location and transported the male, who was the driver of the pickup to HCA Kingwood in stable condition. Once on the scene SH 105 was closed due to the fuel and debris. Masters HAZMAT cleared the roadway and ditches of diesel fuel. Milstead Heavy Duty was dispatched to the scene with multiple wreckers. With the 18-wheeler loaded and in the ditch, the truck which had heavy damage had also sunk in the mud. Crews worked to separate the tractor from the trailer. Once that was done it had to be loaded on a flat bed wrecker due to the wheels and axles being damaged. The reopened after 11:30 am.
