Just before 10 am Wednesday the driver of a Ford F250 pickup was traveling west on SH 105 at Lee Turner Drive in far northeast Montgomery County. He was pulling a gooseneck trailer loaded with concrete forms and rebar. As he approached the intersection a female who had just turned 19 years old pulled out of Lee Turner in front of him. He tried to avoid the collision but was unable to. The pickup struck the Honda’s driver’s door. Bill Forward of Livingston was on his way to Conroe Veterans Center when the crash happened in front of him. He got out and ran to the vehicle. He said the driver was unconscious in the twisted metal. However, he discovered a 3-month-old baby girl in a child seat in the rear behind the mother. He was able to unbuckle the seat and get the baby out. He said the baby wasn’t crying but didn’t appear to have any injuries. He said many motorists drove through the scene without even trying to stop to help. A truck driver also stopped and assisted. North Montgomery County Fire responded along with East Montgomery County Fire. The female was trapped in the vehicle, after cutting for a short time they were able to free her but medics determined she was deceased. MCHd was going to transport the baby to Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center but was diverted to Kingwood Hospital as the baby’s condition deteriorated. THe baby is not in critical condition but is expected to survive. SH 105 was closed for 5-hours as DPS investigated the crash. The Montgomery County District Attorney Office Vehicular Crimes Units also responded to assist in the investigation. No charges are expected. Both vehicles were removed by Milstead Wrecker. A short time before the scene was clear Mr. Forward returned to the scene and asked Troopers if they had found a ring that was quite valuable to him. Thinking is was like searching for a needle in a haystack Troopers began to look and found the ring in the baby seat in the back of the Honda where it fell off when he rescued the baby.
