At about 8:20 p.m. Saturday, a woman in her twenties left her home in the Northcrest Subdivision on SH 242 in New Caney. She traveled in her recently purchased Chevrolet Malibu and approached the intersection of SH 242 at Mossy Oaks. She then proceeded into the intersection but failed to yield to an eastbound pickup, which struck her at the driver’s door. EMC Fire was dispatched to the scene along with MCHD. Firefighters had to cut her out of the vehicle. At the time of the rescue, she was in cardiac arrest. Medics worked but were unable to revive the young lady. DPS investigated the crash. No charges are anticipated, and there were no signs of impairment. Eickenhorst Funeral Directors transported the female to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. DPS was assisted by MCSO and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office.
