Just before midnight Sunday units were dispatched to a robbery in progress at the Valero at I-45 and Shenandoah Drive, In less than 30 seconds 2 Shenandoah patrol units arrived at the location telling dispatchers there was a white van on location. As they entered the store they were met by a 52-year-old black male who had been in the process of robbing the store. Officers attempted to arrest him when he started fighting. THey were able to taze hime and get him in custody. MCHD then transported him to the hospital due to the taser. He was checked and released back to their custody. THe male never displayed a weapon .but told the clerk he was armed as he removed at least 5 packs of beer from the store. He then re-entered the store and was behind the counter as police started to arrive. The struggle took place near the front doors. Inside his van officers found several more 12-packs of beer, cokes, caps and clothing. They believe he may have robbed another store prior to the Valero. He is being transported to the Montgomery County Jail on robbery charges.
