Sheriff Capers Leads Team to Serve a Major Arrest Warrant

Sheriff Capers Leads Team to Serve a Major Arrest Warrant On Thursday, December 10, 2015, Sheriff Greg Capers lead a Tactical Team to a compound at 1100 Jayhawker Road in Southwest San Jacinto County Texas. The purpose of the raid was to execute a First Degree Felony Warrant against a known felon who had a reputation for violence. The team consisted of the San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers, Chief Deputy Joe Schultea, the Patrol Tactical Unit, Texas Department of Public Safety, the Montgomery County Auto Theft Unit of which San Jacinto County is a part of and Liberty County Precinct 6 Constable John Joslin with several of his deputies. Arrival and entry into the unsecured compound was uneventful. As the team ‘cleared’ the various buildings and trailers they were not able to locate the primary suspect they sought. However, as they entered the main residence (trailer) owned by the suspect they were looking for, a group of persons were located having a “meth party”. All were taken into custody without incident. In addition to the meth found with those actors, a small safe along with its key were found in the room with the partiers. The safe was secured and a search warrant was obtained to examine the contents of the safe. Inside was found 29 grams of methamphetamine, along with small baggies for distribution and a set of scales. All of the suspect were transported to the Sheriff’s Office in Coldspring for further investigation. Charges of Possession of Methamphetamine were filed and the suspects were placed into the San Jacinto County Jail.
