Wednesday night at 7:41 PM, Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence located in the 12000 Block of Millcreek Drive South near the Todd Mission Community of Grimes County in regards to a report of an individual being shot.
A 76-year-old female called 911 and reported that she had shot an intruder that had entered the residence. That intruder shortly afterwards was determined to be the repartee’s caregiver.
At 7:45 PM, Todd Mission Police and Grimes County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene where they located the victim inside of the residence with a single gunshot wound to the chest and was non-responsive.
The victim was identified as Samuel Gene Wilson, 60, of Todd Mission who was pronounced dead at the scene by Grimes County Pct# 3 Justice of Peace John LeFlore. Following an inquest being administered by Judge LeFlore, an autopsy was ordered to be conducted at the Central Texas Autopsy Center in Lockhart, Texas. Wilson’s next of kin have been notified by Investigators.
The reporting party was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where they had cooperated with Investigators and Texas Rangers in this investigation.
The reporting party in this case is not being identified at this time due to this investigation is currently on going and no additional information will be released at this time.
Also assisting at the scene were Texas DPS Highway Patrol, Grimes County St. Joseph EMS, and Investigator’s with the Grimes County District Attorney’s Office.
