MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On Tuesday, around 3 p.m., one of Pct. 3 Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Interdiction Unit Deputies saw a dark-colored Chevrolet 4 door with equipment and moving violations on Sawdust Rd near I-45. The Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, with Deputies in pursuit, lights and sirens activated. The suspect stopped near Grogan’s Mill and allegedly fled on foot. Deputies say they gave chase on foot and quickly apprehended suspect Marcus James. He was transported and booked into the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe, but it wasn’t that simple.
Sadly, Deputies soon discovered a small child was left inside James’s vehicle. Fortunately, the child was unharmed and was released to family. The suspect’s vehicle was towed.
Marcus Latrell James, 23, of Houston is charged with third-degree felony Evading Arrest / Detention with Vehicle ($50,000 bond); state jail felony Abandon / Endanger Child / Criminal Negligence ($20,000 bond); first-degree felony Manufacture / Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, more than 4 grams, but less than 200 grams ($50,000 bond) class A misdemeanor Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon ($500 bond). Three additional related charges were rejected.
